WELCOME<\/strong>
\nWe kindly invite you to take part in our international 4-days-orienteering event \u00abCupa Variant 5\u00bb from April 30th to May 3rd, 2015, in Targovishte, Bulgaria. The program in brief:<\/p>\n

Thursday, April 30th<\/strong> Day 1: \u00abBalkan Night\u00bb; night orienteering competition
\nFriday , May 1st<\/strong> Day 2: \u00abBalkan Express\u00bb; sprint competition, IOF-World Ranking Event (WRE), Orienteers Evening
\nSaturday , May 2nd<\/strong> Day 3: \u00abBalkan Hills\u00bb; middle distance competition
\nSunday , May 3rd<\/strong> Day 4: \u00abBalkan Heroes\u00bb; long distance, \u00abTargovishte Trophy\u00bb, IOF-World Ranking Event (WRE)<\/p>\n

Competition center<\/strong>
\nCompetition center is situated in the city of Targovishte, Bulgaria<\/p>\n

Maps and terrains<\/strong>
\nAll competitions will take place on new maps. The fieldwork will be done in late 2014 and early 2015 by Bulgaria’s well-known mapper Dian Bonev. The forests in Targovishte region are mainly mixed forests with big parts of oak and beech – good runnability! Lots of little creeks, gullies, ditches, trenches, foxhowls and rocks add some thrill to the interesting and hilly terrain. For last years maps go to: www.cup.variant5.org<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Classes<\/strong>
\nWomen: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21E, 21B, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, open short, open middle, open long.
\nMen: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21E, 21B, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 and open short, open middle, open long.<\/p>\n

Results and Prizes<\/strong>
\nThe four days of \u00abVariant 5 Cup\u00bb are separate competitions. There is no overall ranking. For each race, the first three runners in each class will be awarded a prize. There is a substantual prize money for elite classes.<\/p>\n

Entries<\/strong>
\nDeadline for entries is March 30th, 2015 (deadline for late entries April 18th, 2015). Please register online on www.cup.variant5.org<\/a>. Online registration is possible starting from October 1st, 2014. On spot you may register for open classes only.<\/p>\n

Important:<\/strong> For all the participants in WRE races<\/strong> (Sprint & Long) \u2013 M21Elite and W21Elite<\/strong>: All runners must have a registration in the new system for entries of International Orienteering Federation – http:\/\/eventor.orienteering.org\/<\/a> . It\u2019s preferable that the entries for these categories are made through the same system at the following links:

Entry Fee<\/strong>
\nThe entry fee including all fours starts will be
\n30 EUR for classes M\/W 12, M\/W 14
\n37 EUR for all classes from M\/W16 to W55 and M75
\n48 EUR for elite classes M\/W 21E
\nPlease note: We offer reduced entry fees for competitors from Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Accommodation and Packages<\/strong>
\nA package including all entry fees, a set of training maps, transport to the events and four nights hotel accommodation is 120 EUR \u2013 breakfast included (130 EUR for elite class runners). If you need assistance in finding suitable accommodation for bigger groups, please do not hesitate to contact us well in advance.
